What's in it for a Retailer?

Why should a retailer handle the LidJet? It is simple, really:

  • Multiple sales. The LidJet only handles one lid, unlike other lid-handling devices. Some may see that as a disadvantage. However, it does it so simply, elegantly, and consumes so little space that customers are going to want to use it for their most-used lids. Try it, you'll see.
  • Fewer Returns. I can't prove it, but I would bet most of the other lid-handling devices have high return rates, because, well, most of them don't work for the variety of lids most consumers have.
  • Higher Customer Satisfaction. Some of them don't get returned, I guess. I see free-standing racks at yard sales and at Goodwill-type stores all of the time. They are cheap enough that people don't bother to return them; they just consider them money down the drain.

By contrast, the LidJet is easy to install, works on 99% of the lids we have found, works in any cabinet, and is easy to use. Most important, though is that it finally solves the nagging problem of lid storage, once and for all.

What are the markets for LidJet?

Upscale/Gourmet

People who love to cook love their tools. You can see it in their kitchens. Those blessed with enough space proudly hang their pots & pans like artwork over the island. But what about the lids?  They are stacked unceremoniously in a drawer or flopped about wherever there is space.

They are ripe for another way to handle and display these important tools.

Easy to reach, beautiful to behold.

Loving to cook, but having a small kitchen, this group is actively looking for a storage solution. Stores and catalogues form the means to reach them with a storage solution.

Some store owners suggest a "decorative" version of the LidJet. For example, one said that if such a version was available using a currently-trendy kitchen motif, she felt she would sell "hundreds" per year, compared to several dozen of the stainless steel "jet-look" configuration.

We believe that the pending patent is strong enough for a version from plastic (with a fixable slide) for storage, or a wire-frame version for cooking or storage.
